Parser Compliance

Marija is the founder and director of Parser compliance. Marija’s work focuses on legal compliance, privacy and data protection, information security. Marija also has extensive experience in regulatory aspects in the banking industry, where she worked for several years and has served as a data protection officer.

In 2010, Marija received her Mag. Jur. from the University of Zagreb and, in 2015, her LL.M. degree from Tilburg University (The Netherlands) in the field of Law and Technology. She was one of the first people with a master’s thesis topic focused on the legal and regulatory aspects of Smart City projects, and data protection challenges related to the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Marija regularly attends international and local conferences on privacy and data protection and holds seminars and workshops on GDPR. Marija also completed ISO 27001 Lead Auditor course, basic programming in Python and several courses on digital marketing.

As a lawyer, Marija holds and organises practical and interactive trainings for lawyers, data protection officers, and compliance officers.

As an entrepreneur, Marija’s mission is to enable compliant and ethical business models for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Marija advises clients from various industries, from food and IT industry, to energy and media/marketing industry.

She has been teaching on Data Science and Digital Marketing studies at the University of Algebra. Currently, she is one of the mentors for AI start-up entrepreneurs in Bird Incubator, the member of the ICC Commission for the Digital Economy, the head of the Compliance Committee of the International Network of Business Women and one of the founders and Vicepresident of Croatian Compliance Association.
